Es ist das erste Biosph\u00e4renreservat der Malediven und besteht aus der gr\u00f6\u00dften Gruppe von Korallen im Indischen Ozean. Hier gibt es eine lebendige Unterwasserwelt mit vielen Spezies, wundersch\u00f6ne Riffe, die durch die Balance zwischen Umwelt und Mensch erhalten wurden.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpearls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_84561.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-6125 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenpearls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_84561-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"img_8456\" width=\"359\" height=\"478\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Das Paradies ruft<\/h2>\n<p>Das Resort befindet sich auf einer gro\u00dfen Insel. Mein erster Eindruck ist, dass ich im Dschungel gelandet bin. Es wurde 1998 in nur elf Monaten erbaut. Es wurden keine gro\u00dfen Baustellenfahrzeuge ben\u00f6tigt, alles ist in detaillierte Handarbeit gefertigt.<br \/>\nKein einziger Baum wurde gef\u00e4llt, die Natur wurde respektiert und gesch\u00fctzt, welches nicht gerade Usus zu dieser Zeit war, als die Bewohner mit dem Wort &#8220;Umwelt&#8221; nicht viel assoziieren konnten.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpearls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_8574.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-6117\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenpearls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_8574-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"img_8574\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Lokale Erfahrungen\u00a0: Abdul<\/h2>\n<p>Einer der Arbeiter war Abul Hussain aus Comilla, Bangladesch. Nach Beendigung des technischen Colleges, kam er nach Coco Dhuni, um im Hotelbusiness zu starten und arbeitete zun\u00e4chst als Bauarbeiter. 1998, als das Resort fertiggestellt war, wollte er zur\u00fcck in seine Heimat, erhielt jedoch vom Management ein Angebot f\u00fcr eine Position in der K\u00fcche des Hotels. Nach kurzem \u00dcberlegen willigte er ein und wechselte dann bald in den F&amp;B Bereich. Patrick, seinerzeit der General Manager, erkannte sein Talent als Kellner und Gastgeber und machte zum Barmixer der Beach Bar. Im Coco Palm Dhuni gab es zahlreiche Trainings mit Hotelexperten aus aller Welt, um das lokale Personal intensiv zu schulen. Ein Trainer aus Kanada half Abdul seine Sch\u00fcchternheit in der Kommunikation mit den G\u00e4sten abzulegen, denn Abdul dachte immer, sein Englisch sei nicht ausreichend. \u00a0Inzwischen f\u00fcnf Jahre f\u00fcllt Abdul nun die Position des Barchefs aus und jeder kennt und sch\u00e4tzt ihn. Da 65 Prozent der G\u00e4ste zur\u00fcckkehren, kennt Abdul ganz genau die Trinkgewohnheiten und Pr\u00e4ferenzen seiner G\u00e4ste. Ein Paar aus Gro\u00dfbritannien reiste bereits 39 Mal auf die Insel und sind wie enge Freunde f\u00fcr den Bengalen. \u00a0In seiner Freizeit schnorchelt Abdul meist, besucht Male oder picknickt mit Kollegen. Er kennt sie so lange, dass sie wie eine Art Familie sind. Alle zwei Jahre f\u00e4hrt er nach\u00a0Bangladesch, um seine Frau und seine beiden S\u00f6hne zu sehen. Auf den Malediven telefoniert er per Skype t\u00e4glich mit ihnen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpearls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_8056.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-6143\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenpearls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_8056-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"img_8056\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Dramatische Erinnerungen<\/h2>\n<p>Einer der emotionalsten Momente war f\u00fcr ihn der Tsunami am 26. Dezember 2004. Abdul hatte gerade geheiratet und kam aus seinen Flitterwochen auf die Insel zur\u00fcck. Er war gegen 9.45 Uhr an der Beach Bar und sah, dass das Meer geradezu sprudelte und sich rasant zur\u00fcckzog. \u00a0Er informierte umgehend den\u00a0General Manager, der ihn anwies den Strand zu verlassen und das Housekeeping zu informieren, die G\u00e4ste von den Villen zu evakuieren. Nach 30 Minuten kam das Wasser in einer riesigen Welle zur\u00fcck, gl\u00fccklicherweise jedoch nicht weit ins Inselinnere. Das Personalhaus war der sicherste Ort auf der Insel und so \u00fcberlie\u00dfen die Angestellten die R\u00e4ume den G\u00e4sten. Das Resort beherbergte sogar G\u00e4ste von Nachbarinseln. \u00a0Drei Tage lang war das Resort von der Welt komplett abgeschnitten, doch niemand wurde verletzt. Abduls Frau und Mutter weinten, als sie zum ersten Mal seine Stimme h\u00f6rten. \u00a060 Prozent der Angestellten im Coco Palm Dhuni sind Maldivier, 4o Prozent stammen aus Bangladesch, Indien oder Sri Lanka. 28 Einheimische arbeiten hier, f\u00fcr sie gibt es einen Shuttle von und zu den Nachbarinseln.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpearls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_8536.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-6112 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenpearls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_8536-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"img_8536\" width=\"606\" height=\"454\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Lokale Erfahrungen: Laleth<\/h2>\n<p>Das Resort verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber eine Schreinerei, in der die gesamten M\u00f6bel hergestellt und repariert werden. Laleth aus Bangladesch gilt als Experte f\u00fcr Korbsessel. Seine wundersch\u00f6nen handwerklichen Arbeiten kann man im gesamten Hotel bewundern. Die Motoren der Boot werden hier ebenfalls gewartet und repariert, einige Werkzeuge werden ebenfalls hergestellt. In einem Land, in dem nahezu alles importiert werden muss, macht es einen wichtigen und gro\u00dfen Unterschied, wenn Produkte und Reparaturen lokal bewerkstelligt werden k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenpearls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/fullsizeoutput_2089.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-6115 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenpearls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/fullsizeoutput_2089-906x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"fullsizeoutput_2089\" width=\"374\" height=\"423\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Organischer Garten<\/h2>\n<p>Nur 5 bis 8 Prozent des Gem\u00fcses kann lokal angebaut werden. Die lokalen Fischer liefern jeden Tag frischen Fisch aus dem Meer. S\u00e4mtliche Kr\u00e4uter f\u00fcr das Restaurant stammen aus dem hoteleigenen, biologischen Kr\u00e4utergarten. G\u00e4ste sind eingeladen, durch den Garten zu schlendern und die Kr\u00e4uter zu probieren. Ziel von Chefkoch Faiz Idrees \u00a0ist es, auch Gem\u00fcse in gr\u00f6\u00dferem Umfang anbauen zu k\u00f6nnen.
