In collaboration with local authorities, the foundation plans to identify schools, public spaces, and residential areas with few trees, among other places. The newly planted trees are intended to provide shade in schoolyards and public spaces. Depending on the location and species of the trees, they can also improve air quality. The first projects are planned for communities surrounding the two Green Pearls® partner hotels, The Anam Cam Ranh and The Anam Mui Ne. The program will expand to other regions of Vietnam at a later date.

The foundation is backed by The Anam Group, which is led by its founder and chairman, Pham Van Hien. The company donates a portion of its annual profits to the foundation, which has funded various local projects and relief efforts for years. In addition to "Anam Green Life," these projects include social support and disaster relief. Most recently, the foundation provided 240 million VND for the renovation or construction of two houses for families in need in Cam Lam, near The Anam Cam Ranh.

Frank made a name for herself early in the Swiss culinary scene. At age 25, she received 14 points from GaultMillau, becoming the youngest chef in the country to receive this rating. She combines influences from Switzerland with those of her Chinese family heritage in her cooking. She draws on Asian flavors and techniques while working with locally sourced ingredients.

South Tyrol therefore serves as the starting point for her guest appearance at OLM. Frank and Aichner aim to reinterpret regional products by combining elements of Alpine cuisine with Asian-inspired cooking methods. Guests can experience the results during the pop-up from October 19 to 30, 2026.

This project focuses on the long-term regeneration of the original cloud forest surrounding the hotel. The area was severely degraded in the early 1970s due to logging and livestock grazing. Today’s wellness and health resort, Klosterhof – Alpine Hideaway & Spa, can trace its origins back to 1501, when the property was used as a farmstead by the Augustinian monks. Parts of the historic structure have been preserved to this day. Since acquiring the building in 2011, Dr. Andreas and Henrike Färber have gradually and sustainably renovated it to adapt it to its current use.

Water filtration using plants

The water will be purified using phytoremediation systems—natural filtration methods that use plants—and then used to irrigate the tropical dry forest. This ecosystem is one of the most sensitive landscapes in northern Peru. Through this initiative, they aim to strengthen native tree species, such as the Peruvian carob tree (Prosopis pallida), which plays an important role in the region’s biodiversity.

This project is part of a comprehensive effort to develop Cabo Blanco as the world’s first climate-neutral beach destination.

At the same time, the resort is expanding its health and fitness offerings. New to the program is Yoga Flow, a 60-minute session combining flowing yoga sequences with strengthening Pilates exercises to build core strength, improve flexibility, and enhance balance. The resort's progress in waste reduction is particularly evident: compared to the initial audit in 2023, the amount of waste sent to landfills has decreased by approximately 50 percent.

EarthCheck also confirmed notable improvements in energy and water consumption, as well as greenhouse gas emissions. This is due to the use of 100 percent green electricity, efficient operating procedures, and green gas contracts, among other things.

Preventing waste at the source is a key lever

According to Caroline Pescoll, the sustainability manager at ADLER, a key factor for success is preventing waste from being generated in the first place, rather than just looking at it at the end of the chain. As part of the EarthCheck certification process, relevant data was collected and evaluated for the first time, providing a basis for targeted measures.

The most important steps that have been implemented include:

• Conversion of the courtesy line from single-use bottles to refillable systems for shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel
• New bath slipper policy whereby slippers are no longer automatically replaced
• Optimization of waste separation to clearly distinguish between residual and landfill waste and recyclable materials
• Structured disposal processes with clear guidelines for separation, collection, and recycling
• Training and raising awareness among employees so that waste prevention and correct separation become part of their everyday work
• Involvement of suppliers, especially regarding packaging, delivery quantities, and more sustainable solutions throughout the supply chain
• Systematic monitoring of waste streams to identify weak points and implement targeted countermeasures

The goal is to minimize landfill waste in the long term and continuously improve processes. Although future improvements will not be on the same scale every year, Caroline Pescoll emphasizes that significant progress has already been made through consistent effort and a clear system.

The afternoon begins at 3:30 p.m. with a gentle yoga session, followed by a group hike through the Warpe Forest. Fees vary depending on the route and type of hike:

• The popular hiking trail No. 10, from the cable car station to the summit of Mount Teide, will cost 15 euros in the future.

• Those who take the route as part of a guided tour will pay 10 euros.

• For hiking trail No. 7, which starts at the foot of the mountain, the fee is €6 (or €10 on weekends).

Children, locals, and residents of the other Canary Islands are exempt from paying, but they still need to register online and book a time slot. There is an overall price cap of 25 euros per person for all hiking trails on the island.

The trail invites visitors to relax and breathe in the fresh forest air while listening to the sounds of nature. Along the way, they encounter the timeless principles of Sebastian Kneipp—simple, natural practices that promote harmony between body and mind. In our fast-paced world, these rituals are becoming increasingly important, offering visitors the opportunity to consciously experience nature.

The traditional family-run hotel has been in operation for over 50 years and continues to surprise guests with new nature-related ideas. In addition to the new Kneipp path, the grounds feature a bee nature trail and the opportunity to inhale the soothing air from the beehive during a special "Api-Wellness" treatment.

On 20 September, 250 participants, including local residents, community leaders and staff from three neighbouring resorts, gathered on the nearby island of Himmafushi. Among them were 67 Gili Lankanfushi hosts who joined the Himmafushi council and community members in removing litter and debris from the beaches, streets and public spaces.

The cleanup went beyond collecting waste—it raised awareness of environmental responsibility and the power of collective action.
