Lavendelblüten mit Schmetterling auf Gut Guntrams

Arche Guntrams

The non-profit organization Guntrams Ark is committed to sustainable living and business.

Missions of the Guntrams Ark

  • Supervision of the Crystal Garden Nature Museum in Guntrams
  • Biomonitoring is used to determine the denaturation of habitats
  • Using solar power to reduce dependence on fossil fuels
  • There is a pilot project to recover the floodplain forest of the Schwarza.

Measures such as insect hotels, nesting boxes, biotopes, gentle mowing of the meadow orchards in the sense of species protection, furthermore the planting of shrubs for butterflies, bees and other insects contribute to the increase in biodiversity.

In addition, a cooperation with a beekeeper is in place to pollinate the fruit trees and wild fruit bushes.

There are over a hundred different varieties of the new orchards at Gut Guntrams. Scions are used to preserve old varieties. Therefore, the name “Guntrams Ark”.

We believe that people who care about nature should also fight to protect endangered plants and animals.  Humans cannot take more than they can replace. Only then will nature be able to continue to provide its services for us in the future.
