HUBERTUS Mountain Refugio has its roots in the 1950s and has been continuously managed and reinvented by the Traubel family ever since. Sustainability has been an important concern from the beginning. Today, the hotel is run by the second and third generation, senior chef Karl Traubel and his wife Christa, and junior chef Marc Traubel and his wife Sabrina. Marc Traubel is an experienced hotelier with a career in the hospitality industry spanning over thirty years. Even as a child, he helped in the hospitality industry at his family’s mountain lodge. After training in renowned hotels and working in various positions around the world, he returned to his family’s hotel twelve years ago and has been developing it into a sustainable mountain refuge ever since.
