What was the inspiration behind Medeco Cleantec?

The initial idea for Green Cleaning came from a personal place: founder Fritz Pattis searched for gentle, residue-free alternatives to chemical cleaners due to his son's allergies. Without success. Years later, while planning and cleaning photovoltaic systems, he encountered the same problem: cleaning agent residue. They not only reduce the performance of the PV modules, but also attract new dirt. This experience provided the decisive impetus for developing Green Cleaning, Pattis explains. How does micro-dry steam cleaning work?

Micro-dry steam is produced by heating water to very high temperatures (180-200°C) under high pressure (9-10 bar). Unlike conventional steam, dry steam contains hardly any water droplets, hence its name.

Its physical properties enable it to penetrate deep into pores, joints, and microcracks, where it dissolves organic and inorganic residues, grease, dust, etc. Germs and mold are greatly reduced or eliminated. Dry steam condenses on dust and dirt particles, absorbing them directly with a microfiber cloth and leaving no residue. At the same time, dry steam dries quickly without soaking or damaging surfaces.

What is the difference between ordinary steam cleaners and micro-dry steam cleaners?

Traditional steam cleaners operate at a lower pressure of about 3.5 bar and a temperature around 130°C. This produces very moist steam with a water content of up to 35% – too much for sensitive surfaces and not powerful enough for deep cleaning.

In contrast, Medeco Cleantec’s micro cleaners operate at over 9 bar of pressure and temperatures exceeding 180°C. This produces the finest micro-dry steam, which cleans more quickly and hygienically while being more gentle.

Can micro-dry steam also be used to clean wood furniture, upholstered furniture, and electronics?

Yes, unlike traditional steam cleaners, Medeco Cleantec’s micro-dry steam is ideal for cleaning wood, textiles, leather, plastics, and sensitive electronics because it doesn’t overwet surfaces.
