SWISSFEEL – Sustainable and Circular Mattresses from Switzerland

As a pioneer in circular economy practices, SWISSFEEL offers washable hotel mattresses, toppers, and pillows that are taken back free of charge after use for complete recycling. This process extends the products' service life, saves resources, and ensures maximum hygiene.

Three Sustainability Facts about SWISSFEEL:

Recyclable Sleep Solutions – from Mattresses to Pillows

SWISSFEEL is an owner-managed company based in Zurich that has specialized in sustainable sleep solutions for the hotel industry. The company offers customers an all-inclusive package: washable mattresses, toppers, and pillows that are regularly cleaned for hygiene purposes and fully recycled after 15 to 20 years of use. Production mainly takes place in Switzerland, with additional locations in Europe.

What sets SWISSFEEL apart

The manufacturers believe that modern technology is the key to true sustainability. Their business model consistently centers on circularity: the SWISSFEEL-2-CYCLE system extends the mattress lifespan by up to three times compared to conventional models. At the end of their life cycle, mattresses are completely broken down into their raw materials, which can then be reused for new products. Thus, it creates a closed loop that conserves resources and avoids waste.

A Contribution to New Hygiene Standards in the Hotel Industry

The new classification system from Hotelstars Union (2025–2030) makes bed hygiene significantly more important in the star rating system for European hotels. Washable mattresses are now considered the standard for modern hotel furnishings and earn additional points. SWISSFEEL helps hoteliers meet these requirements and often exceed them.

Questions and Answers about the Sustainable SWISSFEEL Hotel Mattresses

Find answers to frequently asked questions about SWISSFEEL mattresses below.

What makes SWISSFEEL mattresses sustainable?

SWISSFEEL mattresses, toppers, and pillows are fully washable and recyclable. After up to 20 years of use, SWISSFEEL takes back the mattresses free of charge and recycles them. This saves resources, extends the products’ service life, and reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 80%.

Can I really wash my whole SWISSFEEL mattress?

Yes, you can wash your whole SWISSFEEL mattress. The removable cover can be washed in a regular washing machine, and the mattress core can be cleaned using the SWISSFEEL mattress cleaning service. Just send in your mattress, and they’ll give it a deep clean before sending it back to you.

Where are SWISSFEEL products manufactured?

Production is mainly carried out in Switzerland, complemented by selected sites in Europe — always under the highest quality standards.

What are SWISSFEEL hotel mattresses made of?

SWISSFEEL mattresses consist of two components: a textile cover and a Swiss mineral foam core. Both materials are OEKO-TEX® certified, breathable, and fully washable, providing ideal conditions for hygiene and durability.

Are SWISSFEEL mattresses suitable for people with allergies?

Yes. If hotels have their SWISSFEEL products cleaned annually, they are certified by Service Allergie Suisse (a subsidiary of the aha! Swiss Allergy Centre) as suitable for people with house dust mite allergies. Regular cleaning has been proven to remove allergens and measurably improve sleep hygiene — an important advantage for hotels offering allergy-friendly rooms.

What is the lifespan of a SWISSFEEL mattress?

Regular washing and SWISSFEEL mattresses’ high-quality workmanship extend their service life to around 15-20 years. This is nearly three times longer than the lifespan of conventional hotel mattresses. After they are no longer used, the materials are recycled and reused for new products.

How are SWISSFEEL mattresses recycled?

SWISSFEEL guarantees the complete return and recycling of all products. Once mattresses reach the end of their useful life (after around 15 to 20 years), the Swiss mineral foam can be washed and reused to make new products, such as SWISSFEEL flake pillows. This extends the material’s total service life to up to 40 years. Once the foam has reached its physical limit, partner companies break it down into its basic components, such as polyol — from which new foam is produced — and the material cycle begins again.

What advantages do SWISSFEEL mattresses offer hotels?

In addition to outstanding hygiene and durability, SWISSFEEL mattresses meet the current European Hotelstars Union requirements for the 2025–2030 star categories. Washable beds are considered a hygiene standard and can improve a hotel’s rating. Thanks to their extended service life, they offer economic advantages, reduce waste, and promote sustainable travel.
