History & Philosophy
Hotel Bella Vista Zermatt opened in 1962 and is now run by the third generation of the family. The hotel’s founder, Theodor Perren, was a farmer and herder of black-nosed sheep, while his wife, Margrit, was a passionate hostess. The youngest daughter Bernadette took over the hotel in 1978 with her husband Franz, a baker. The guests were offered a rich breakfast buffet with many fresh and homemade ingredients, which was not a matter of course at that time.

In 2010, daughters Christine and Fabienne took over the hotel. Fabienne has been running the business alone since 2017 and has been committed to environmentally friendly practices ever since. Stefanie, the youngest of the three sisters, returned to the hotel in 2018 and has since become a yoga instructor, offering yoga classes and retreats. Together, they have redesigned the rooms and expanded the spa area. The fourth generation, with Fabienne’s son Elio, is already in the starting blocks.
“For us, value is what endures. We are aware of the great responsibility towards our fellow human beings and the environment.” Hotel Bella Vista Zermatt
