From Bus Hotel to a Holistic Health Resort
Looking at the Lifestyle Resort Zum Kurfürsten today, it’s hard to believe how it all began. In 2001, Heiner Buckermann, your current host, purchased the Hotel Zum Kurfürsten on the Kueser Plateau above Bernkastel-Kues. At that time, it was a small hotel that catered almost exclusively to bus tours. It had 56 beds, a very simple dining area, and no star rating. Step by step, Buckermann and his team transformed it into the resort you experience today.
Vineyards, views of the Moselle River, and historic streets
From the Kueser Plateau (home to the Lifestyle Resort Zum Kurfürsten), you can take in one of Germany’s most famous wine regions, the Moselle. This vacation destination offers easy access to nature, culture, and indulgence. Here, you can enjoy wellness or health retreats alongside e-bike tours along the Moselle, exploration of the wine villages, and, of course, the occasional wine tasting—all without needing a car.
