- Guests are encouraged to visit and participate in activities that do not use animals for entertainment.
- No tickets will be sold for such activities; elephant rides, tiger and dolphin shows.
- Suggested alternatives include ethical wildlife tourism and cultural experiences in Phuket
- Reduced use of natural materials, such as wood, in favor of environmentally friendly synthetic materials to help prevent further deforestation and other environmental impacts, including transportation.
- The design has been carefully considered to protect the existing ecosystem; contours, soil, trees and natural water resources are either maintained in their original form or used with minimal alteration.
- Keemala has no tall buildings to avoid disturbing the natural landscape and ruining views of the mountainside.
- The building design uses glass to increase natural daylight and reduce the need for artificial lighting.
- Keemala uses its own bio-organic fertilizer made from organic waste. The fertilizer is used for gardening.
- Keemala has several enchanted gardens with naturally and organically grown herbs, vegetables and fruits that are an essential part of Keemala’s healthy living concept. Some of the herbs and vegetables are grown without soil.

- Guests are involved in the “natural lifestyle” concept through weekly complementary activities such as garden tours, cooking classes, aloe vera extraction, pandan leaf folding, yoga, tai chi, meditation and more.
- To ensure the quality of the treated water, it is analyzed in a laboratory twice a year.
- Treated wastewater is reserved for the irrigation of the plantation.
- Water plants naturally treat the stream, waterfall and other natural water resources. They act as a natural water filtration system, adding more oxygen to the water. As a result, the water is clear, clean and requires fewer chemicals.
- Optimizing water use by setting water conservation goals for all hotel activities and increasing internal reuse, such as reusing gray water to irrigate gardens and landscaping.
- Using rainwater for hydroponic plants.
- Use of water-efficient toilets, infrared sensors, low-flow faucets for sinks, showerheads, etc.
- Energy consumption is accurately measured and monitored.
- LED bulbs and automatic lighting timers are used.
- A lot of glass has been installed to maximize natural daylight.
- The percentage of renewable energy will continue to increase, for example through solar systems for lighting public areas and electric vehicles.
