What to experience in Sri Lanka

Thanks to its regional beauty and rich cultural heritage, Sri Lanka is a very popular tourism destination. The island state impresses with stunning diversity - nationalparks, beaches, fascinating biodiversity and eight world heritage sites maintained by the state, whereof six are cultural sites and two natural sites. Visit the stunning Pidurangala Rock in Sigiriya, stroll through the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya or take a look at the cave temple of Dambulla. Next to religious landmarks such as the rock-cut Buddha figures of Buduruwagala and impressive historic monuments, such as the Yapahuwa Rock Fortress, stunning nature and impressive National Parks will take your breath away. The biggest centre of attraction of the multi religious and multi ethical Sri Lanka is the cultural triangle Kandy-Anuradhapura-Polonnsruwa.
