Circular Living - The new hotel room concept with highest eco-efficiency standards
Stephan Bode and his eight-member support team - representing the entire team - returned from Düsseldorf last week with a special award. The owner of the SCHWARZWALD PANORAMA is still beaming with joy, because the Sustainable Hospitality Award was presented to a project that is close to his heart.
Taking sustainability to the next level – With a Cradle to Cradle® inspired hotel room concept.
Sustainability is deeply embedded in the philosophy and value chain of the hotel in Bad Herrenalb. Environmental friendliness, climate-neutral vacations, and the like are not just lip service but are lived every day. With the renovation of the rooms, this commitment was to be raised to a new level.
Circular Living represents this new level. It is a unique hotel room concept based on the principles of Cradle to Cradle® design. This means that in the selection of all building elements, attention is paid to material health, recyclability, climate neutrality, decarbonization, high social standards, and regeneration quality.
By all the rules of nature
The Black Forest in general, and Bad Herrenalb with its landmark Falkenstein in particular, are places of power that fascinate people year after year. They were the inspiration for the design of the new hotel rooms. Freigeist, Waldklang and Falkenstein describe three design approaches that not only include materials but also furnishings and decor.
Innovative and future-oriented
SCHWARZWALD PANORAMA realized the ambitious and forward-looking project together with the interior design team of Fritz Schlecht I SHL and the Cradle to Cradle® design experts of RITTWEGER and TEAM. It took three years to develop the concept, which has now won the Sustainable Hospitality Award.
Three sample rooms were completed and ready for occupancy in December 2022. A further 21 rooms will follow by June 2023 and the entire fourth floor by spring 2024.

Ultimately, the goal is to establish a completely new level of quality in the circular design of hotel rooms, thus ensuring a sustainable future for the hospitality industry.

With 100 percent biodegradable or recyclable materials such as real moss or sheep's wool, reusability and a positive effect on the room and sleeping atmosphere, Circular Living is not only good for the environment, but also for the guests. Anyone who wants to can already book their vacation in one of the Circular Living rooms and experience the concept with all their senses.
