Premiere: Cooking event with Reinhold Messner at OLM Nature Escape

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, guests of the OLM Nature Escape will have the opportunity to get to know mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner from a new angle: in the kitchen. Together with his wife Diane Messner and chef Berni Aichner, he will cook for the guests.

The "OLM People" series introduces special people

The Eco-Aparthotel OLM Nature Escape, a member of the Green PearlsⓇ network, has launched the "OLM People" series, where guests can spend a whole day (as part of a short break of at least 4 nights) with outstanding personalities from the region. Extreme mountaineer Reinhold Messner kicks off the series. For many years, he has been promoting sustainability and soft tourism in his native South Tyrol. Phenomena such as mass tourism and climate change have already left their mark on the Alpine region. For this reason, his visit is also a statement of what positive tourism can look like.

Thanks to geothermal probes and solar energy, the eco-aparthotel is completely energy self-sufficient and blends in with nature using local materials. From the beginning, the accommodation has relied on organic food and products from the region.

Hiking with Reinhold and Diane Messner

Regional products are also the focus of the inaugural event in the OLM People series. On a hike with Reinhold and Diane Messner, guests visit the Eggemoa cheese manufactory, the Hofkäserei Mittermairhof, and the Hofkäserei Hochgruberhof.

Cooking premiere with guests

After the hike and a break for refreshments, everyone will reunite in the evening in the front cooking area of PRENN°. For the first time, Reinhold Messner will cook live in public and prepare a menu together with his wife Diane and OLM chef Berni. Of course, the wine will also be from the region: from the Kuenhof winery in Brixen.

The OLM team will not reveal what will be on the menu. But it will be "homemade" and zero-kilometer food from the mountains of South Tyrol.

The package includes a minimum stay of 4 nights with arrival on May 22 or 23, 2025. In addition to the day with Mr. and Mrs. Messner, the package includes a hike in the Dolomites and a hike in Kasern, each with an experienced hiking guide.
