STURM presents a new relaxation room designed by an award-winning architect

The STURM in the Bavarian Rhön mountain area has opened a new relaxation room. The architectural design was created by Professor Matthias Loebermann, who recently received the "best architects award 24" for an extension to the hotel.

Relaxation room with "reset"-hallway

The new relaxation room has been created in the RHÖN-SPA area of the STURM, where guests can relax after a sauna session or spa treatment. Access to the relaxation room is via a lock-like corridor like it already exists in the foyer. The hallway sets the mood for a new spatial situation and, according to the planners, triggers "a kind of reset".

This is interesting from an architectural point of view because the hallway is often seen as a synonym for wasted space in common furniture stores. According to the Federal Association of German Interior Architects (BDIA), however, the aisle deserves a "high status", as can now be experienced in STURM.

Highlights of the new relaxation room

The new relaxation room has the following design elements for a special room climate:

• All-wood paneling with silver fir
• The vertical wood paneling is natural and therefore emits a pleasant wood scent.
• Six large double loungers made of soft material (also known as poufs)
• Subtle lighting

Architect Professor Matthias Loebermann has worked with STURM on several occasions. He recently received the best architects award 24 for the extension, which opened in 2022.
