Tourism starts again in Thailand

Thailand is once again welcoming fully vaccinated people from 46 countries as of today. For the first time for months, a quarantine-free stay is possible. This includes Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The requirements: Tourists may only have been in countries classified as safe three weeks before entering Thailand. In addition, they must take a PCR test beforehand, which may have been taken no more than 72 hours before the flight. Tourists are also required to install the tracking app “MorChana,” obtain special health insurance and the “Thailand Passport,” and book a night in a SHA+ hotel, where they must wait for the test result on site.

More countries are to be added starting Dec. 1. At that time, the serving of alcohol in restaurants, which has been banned for months, is also expected to be allowed again. 

However, vaccinated travelers from all other countries will still have to spend seven days in quarantine - or take part in model projects in certain regions, such as on the islands of Phuket and Ko Samui. Under the programs, which require some strict rules to be followed, quarantine-free vacations for travelers with two vaccinations from numerous countries have already been possible again since July.
