Weihrerhof opens the ice swimming season at the Wolfsgrubener Lake

Long-standing Green Pearls® partner Hotel Weihrerhof in Ritten opened this year's ice bathing season. Lake Wolfsgrubener See has frozen over, and the hotel prepares a controlled ice hole at its own boathouse every day, offering guests safe conditions for a cold bath in water around two degrees Celsius.

Accompanied by a ritual combining sauna heat, mountain lake water, and conscious breathing, ice bathing is an integral part of the winter program at this sustainable family hotel.

"Cold has a resetting effect on the body," explains host Klaus Pichler. Alternating between heat, cold, and rest consciously promotes circulation, blood flow, and stress regulation. Instead of technical cold pools, the Weihrerhof relies on natural stimuli and sees ice bathing as a mindful offering that focuses on tranquility, contact with nature, and authentic experiences.
