The HUBERTUS Mountain Refugio Allgäu has just completed the renovation of 46 of its 66 hotel rooms. There were two special features:

Five model rooms in the “Mountain-Nest”had already been renovated in 2023, so that guest feedback could be taken into account in the current renovation work.
The furnishings in the hotel rooms were not replaced, but rather sustainably renovated.

Interior designer Sarah Stapelfeldt explains in the renovation video that the goal was not to throw anything away but to refurbish it. The high-quality floors and solid wood furniture (larch and spruce) were sanded, ornaments were removed and reassembled. A new coat of paint was applied using natural clay paint, which is not only local but also excellent for the indoor climate.

"I am particularly proud when I walk through the rooms and see how the old has been preserved and transformed into something new and wonderful," says hotelier Marc Traubel.
