Lifestyle hotel SAND gets new extension and CO2-neutral carpets

Can we do that eco-friendly? Our Green PearlsⓇ hotels are characterized by the fact that every new acquisition is subjected to an ecological review. The Lifestylehotel SAND at the Baltic Sea in Germany now has a new look. The "SANDlounge" in front of the reception hall has been expanded with a modern construction. In addition, almost the entire hotel has a new carpet with a sand wave design.

The idea for the extension came about when the hotel's receptionists complained of cold feet during the cold months. With the new glass extension, this is now a thing of the past. But it's not just the team that's happy - guests also enjoy the extra space for a cup of tea or coffee or to read the morning paper after breakfast. In the summer months, the glass doors can be fully opened to let in the Baltic Sea air.

New CO2 neutral carpet tiles also contain post-consumer PET

The special feature of the newly laid carpet tiles of the INTERFACE brand (located in Germany, Austria and Switzerland) is the high recycled content. This consists not only of pre-consumer PET, i.e. plastic waste from production, but also of recycled post-consumer plastic that has already been in circulation and previously served its purpose as a bottle or yogurt pot.

• The yarn consists of 50% pre-consumer and 50% post-consumer PET.
• The recycled content is 72.70% pre-consumer and 12.40% post-consumer PET.
• The rest is based on natural materials.

The Lifestyle Hotel SAND in Timmendorfer Strand is an adults-only hotel with a sauna on the roof terrace. If you like, you can even spend the night in a wicker sleeping beach chair under the stars.
