That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome the four Rocche di Montexelo vacation apartments in Monticello d’Alba as a new Green Pearls® partner.
A family-run retreat in the heart of the Roero
Along with Langhe and Monferrato, the Roero is one of Piedmont’s UNESCO-protected wine-growing regions. Vineyards, hazelnut groves, truffle forests, and characteristic rock formations shape the landscape. The four lovingly furnished Rocche di Montexelo vacation apartments, located at the foot of the Castello dei Conti Roero, serve as a starting point for adventures and a place of relaxation.
After a long day with a truffle tour, wine tasting, or the "Hazelnut Experience," guests can look forward to another highlight: the small spa area with a sauna, hot tub, and relaxation area. Guests also have access to the solar-heated outdoor pool. Exclusively reserved for guests of each apartment, it is a place where they can unwind in peace and complete privacy.
The hosts, Irene and Roberto Biancotti, value genuine hospitality and are happy to assist their guests with advice and support. They know the best restaurants and will gladly recommend the perfect wine to pair with dinner cooked in the apartments' small kitchens. They ensure that their guests feel right at home.

But it is not just their guests’ satisfaction that is close to Irene and Roberto’s hearts. From the beginning, they designed Rocche di Montexelo to be a sustainable vacation rental. When constructing the new building, they took the opportunity to install a rainwater cistern and underground storage for hazelnut shells (the former estate, unfortunately, could not be saved). The cistern is used to fill the pool, and the storage facilities are used to heat the apartments. Their commitment to sustainability is verified regularly through Green Key certification. Rocche di Montexelo has just been recertified.
