When September Becomes the Peak Season

For a long time, midsummer and the summer vacation period were considered the most important travel seasons in many places. However, rising temperatures are shifting seasonal patterns, as several Green Pearls® partners have observed.

According to the STURM hotel in the Rhön, September has now become the peak season. The hotel attributes this to the warmer temperatures resulting from climate change. This allows guests to enjoy the garden and natural swimming pond longer while avoiding the hustle and bustle of summer.

The Relais del Maro in Liguria is also seeing significantly more guests in September than in previous years, with some stays extending into October. The hotel attributes this to warm days in early fall extending the season.

On the Croatian island of Iž, September is now one of the busiest months at the Hotel Korinjak. May, June, and early October are also becoming more popular. Warmer summers could be contributing to this trend, according to the hotel, although they suspect that changing travel patterns and economic factors may also play a role.
