Inkaterra will jolt your movie nights. It starts the online film fest with a retrospective paying tribute to the legendary Werner Herzog. One of the boldest filmmakers in cinema history, Herzog grasped the essence of the Peruvian Amazon and Andean region of Machu Picchu through his audacious vision in the cult films Aguirre: the Wrath of God (1972) and Fitzcarraldo (1982) – both co-produced by Inkaterra founder José Koechlin, whose fond memory of his long-lasting friendship with Herzog is available in the Inkaterra blog.
